I've had my Sterling Stingray 5 for a while now (enough to void the warranty), and today while adjusting the truss rod after getting new strings, the wheel to adjust it fell out! Has anyone dealt with this problem before, and if so how did you fix it? This is my primary bass and I'd hate to have to get it replaced.

I’m pretty sure the wheel is a permanent part of the inner rod of the truss rod so if it’s come off you are going to need a whole new inner part.

Either an expensive luthier job or a new neck from SBMM. Check both costs and choose.

If you also needed a fret job, maybe a new neck is a better deal.

The wheel CANNOT just fall off unless the rod breaks. There is no room in the cavity to just loosen one til it falls off.
