Calling all JPM owners: Please help!

I want to buy one...the only thing keeping me is that fact that playing artificial harmonics is very difficult on this guitar.....anyone else have trouble, or a solution??

I don't know how to explain it but it's like the strings are so low that my thumb can't get to them, in order to play those harmonics. I tried playing cemetary gates and it was very hard.

If the set-up on that guitar not to your liking, you can change the string height (from the fretboard) to suit your needs.

Sometimes you can get the store to do a minor chnage in the string height before you buy if you are serious about purchasing. Ask nicely.

Remember to check each guitar's neck joint for cracks.

I find that artificial harmonics are harder to come by on the JP also. I did raise the pickups to gain some more output by putting in a couple of rubber 1/16" thick, 1/4" o.d. with 1/8" inside diameter washers around the mounting screw under the pickups.(Gotta take off the strings and be careful with the wires)
It helped some, but I feel that you have to sort of experiment to find the best places on the guitar to obtain pinch harmonics.(more so than with most of the other guitars I have)
Still not there yet, but so far it's worth the effort. Great instrument!
