I've just been contacted by a guy in the Netherlands after his referring to the serials on my website.

He has a Sterling Bass with serial 32230. EB advised him the serial is Dec 1990 which is consistent with my list.

Problem is that I believe the Sterling was introduced in 1993. Can you confirm the introduction year.

He suspects the bridge on his Bass was swapped with the bridge from another Bass. I suspect the same.

My toss is that his bridge came from either an early EB 'Ray or early EB Sabre Bass.

The other possibility is that a spare N.O.S. 1990 bridge was utilised for his Sterling and that his instrument is completely original from the factory.

To avoid confusion, can you advise as to what type of Bass the serial was assigned to...a Sterling, 'Ray or Sabre?

.

Gav..That s/n shows it left here as a Vintage Sunburst Stingray 2 EQ made on 12/11/90 Looks like you were right about the bridge swap
