So, I got it down to below 1/16, it's not at 1/32 yet, but it's definatly below 1/16. It's beginning to choke SLIGHTLY on some high e bends, so i've adjusted the truss some, and bought the bridge up to flush on both sides...

Am I pretty much as low as you can go without some fret levelling being done?
 
That would be my guess, but go by how it feels to you, don't think too much about measurements.

yeh. I have it feeling real good now, but i'm really anal about these things, and just keep thinking about getting it lower.

I should just shut up and play the damn thing eh? :)

Oh yeah , play along with the feel of it - my Les Paul is too low,you can't "dig" into a bend and I should really raise the action.

I got my JP at, or just a hair above, 1mm... which is pretty close to 1/32 of an inch.

I just played with everything: saddles, bridge height (lowering the bridge by a few 10ths of a millimeter made all the difference) and truss rod. I get a little buzz here and there, but nothing you can hear through the amp. I get no chokes on high E bends.

But, every neck is different. Have you straightened out the neck to nearly flat with the truss rod? Leaving too much relief in a low action setup can cause a "valley" that begins to rise after the 12th fret. This can cause buzzing and fret-out in the upper registers.

I have some relief in mine, but not much. I just eyeball relief instead of measuring it... fretting the 1st fret and 24th and tapping with my left hand pinky, or right hand index towards the middle of the string to see how much clearance is there.

I would recommend getting the neck nearly flat, with just a tad of relief and THEN re-do your setup and action adjustments (if you have more relief in the neck than necessary right now, you might actually have to raise the action a tad to get back to where you want to be)... This might just solve your issue. ;) Good luck!

Yeah man, I have the neck nearly perfectly straight. I'm happy with where it is at the minute. It's extremly low, I guess the bottom the high E is very close the 1/32, I like it. :D

Cool! Don't you just love these guitars? My JP is THE most comfortable and dynamic guitar I own. I seem to always reach for it over my others. It's just simply a beautifully designed instrument that I plan to keep for good. ;)
