Hello all, I wanted post a recording I just finished. I haven't heard too many clean Cobalt samples, so I hope this helps anybody looking to hear what Cobalts do in a clean setting.
This was done with my '92 SRV strat, equipped with D. Allen True Vintage '54s. The pickups were set very low, basically flush with the pickguard. I played into my Mesa Boogie Blue Angel 2X10 combo and we rear-mic'ed the cabinet.
I had a hunch that the Cobalts would shine and provide some extra definition on the wound strings in this rig - and I was right! I was impressed with the string-to-string balance, you can hear what I'm referring to at around the 1:50 mark when I descend down around the 5th fret area on the A string. The close m7 voicings resolve well and lay in the mix very nicely under the vocals.
Hope this helps!
