Colour Database Sticky Thread?

Great idea, but it would need to be kept under control, with posting probably restricted to Gav and Jack. Otherwise it becomes another unwieldy thread like the photo gallery thread. A better way to do it would be to host the photos elsewhere, and have a sticky post at the top of the forum with links to the photos listed in a logical and concise format. That, or set up a Photobucket site with albums for Stingray, Bongo, Sterling and SUB, and have examples of available color combinations submitted by members for someone to catalog and manage the Photobucket site.

I was thinking of a database that gives a true perspective of a colour finish. For example, who knows the diff between true Sunburst and Tobacco? When was Blueburst available? What's the difference between Sunburst and Vintage Sunburst. How did Honeyburst evolve? When were Sparkles available and in what colours? What's Autumnburst? When was that available? Wnen was Peach available etc etc.

Well, at first I was thinking, "What's he on about now?"

But now I get it. Great idea, actually. I have a few examples of such things....

Agreed, that would be a valuable and interesting resource. You mention the word database, which is the concept I envisaged when you mentioned it, rather than a rambling thread that goes on and on for dozens on pages with no way of indexing the content. Something like your serial number thread, with links to photos stored off site (for speed of loading) rather than in the thread itself would work best IMHO.

Heh, heh. I guess I jumped the gun on that one. :o

Anyway, add me to the list of contributors! I'd love to help out.

I like it, Gavin. It would help to answer the many questions about honeyburst versus sunburst, Blue Dawn versus Blue Afternoon, etc etc etc.
