Confusion (mine) about EVH Music Man model release year

I was under the impression that the Music Man EVH model came out in the early 90s - but the Van Halen "Dreams" Official Video shows him with that guitar and the that song came out in 1986. Im just curios am I wrong?

The song originally came out in 86 but that video was from their greatest hits cd that came out in the 90's.

The original version of Dreams had airplanes in it ... Blue angels or something like that
