....well maybe not realy a question, but having never had the experience of using a Hipshot Tremsetter (went from floyds to PRS trems to fixed bridges) any benefits of possibly installing on of these on a JP? I'd like to not lose that floating "flutter" effect that you get by smacking the bar (which from what I remember it will take away). I just like that fact that it always returns to zero.

Also, being a techhead I'm usualy pretty versed ere, tho I;m embarassed to ask this one....in terms of widening a nut slot for a heavier gauge string, any negatives if you go back down a rung or two gauge wise?

Jus some preemptives, that being said I probably won't hot rod these pieces at all snce they're out of the box perfection, just some things that popped up mentally.

Thats a great idea. Drawbacks might be added noise when utilizing your trem tho.

Biggest problem with the Tremolo-No at this point is that they aren't in production yet, so no one can get one unless they can beg one off Kev...

Anyway, I had a tremsetter on a Strat Plus for a while, and I thought it stiffened up the tremolo substantially. A better bet would be an Ibanez BackStop - which is what Steve Vai uses on his guitars - but Ibanez stopped making them years ago, and they're damned hard to find (I've got one and I'm holding onto it in case I find a use for it some day)... I don't know if there are likely to be any adverse effects if you go back down a guage or two having widened your nut, but I suppose having the string move from side to side in the nut slot would be a bad that could lead to tuning instability or noise? just a thought there...

Thats what I was thinking about the nut. Figure it this: 10's aren't far off from 11's and since theyre trem based it should be fine that way (I've been out of the trem loop for a long time.). I'd like to see how they setup JP's C tuned guitars to so I have an idea. The beefy slinkies sound so good tho on my fixed bridges that the one I'm retaining will be setup that way.
