as you realize, a pc mic really isn't supposed to be used for what I'm doin' with it...kinda makes things sound harsh and sterile....I gotta see about borrowin' my buddy's tube mic pre and see how that works out
 
yep, I also use a cheap mic and it's not the best solution but I find it to sound 10 times better than some emulated outputs from the amp or sth like that.

I couldn't agree with you more, dude...I used to have a Vetta combo amp..and I could never get a good direct out recording with them...this cummy PC mic still sounds alot better..

I do have a shure sm57, just no pre amp for it

yep, the splawn lives up to expectations, that's for sure...I haven't gotten a chance to really crank it yet..cause it's LOUD...even at half power it's friggin' loud...lol...

I used the lynch...still waitin' for the evolution from MF to slap in the jp
