There are several less expensive hotels/motels very nearby. At both the south and north ends of DFW Airport.

Regarding the 'family friendly' question.....I'd say it's not exactly family UNfriendly, but really it's more of an adult oriented event. Dinner, drinks, music, drinks, bad language (Hi Luke) and so on.
