Well, when i first heard the song i was dissapointed. i thought that the chilli peppers had totally lost their mojo and that they were too commercial.

but the more i hear it, the more it grows on me. so my hopes that the upcoming RHCP will be a return to form are higher than initial levels.

What do you guys think of Dani California, now that it has been out for a few weeks?

p.s. BP, Flea was much cooler when he played a 'Ray.:)

It's a nice song, but it's made me realize how far RHCP has gone from their original sound. Watching a video of a concert they did 1985, it really becomes apparent. The times, theys a-changin.

Have you guys listened to the rest of it? The entire cd is being streamed for free on vh1.com: http://www.vh1.com/music/hear_music_first/

Some great funk tunes mixed in with some of their newer sounds. I really dig it. Flea was touring with his Modulus basses but recording with his Stingrays. It DOES sound like a different bass this time though. He was playing a Fender on the AOL sessions gig recently: http://music.aol.com/videos/session...s=560&defaultID=560&ncid=AOLMUS00050000000022

Maybe that's what he used for this cd?
