Ernie Ball endorsee Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band, John Petrucci, Vinnie Moore and Planet X) will be joining Joe Satriani on his upcoming "Super Colossal Tour". The US tour, starting April 1st will also feature Eric Johnson.

OMG!!!!! That's gonna be the most insane concert ever! Those are ALL my favourite musicians and bands!!!!!! Where did you hear about this and where can I read about it and so forth?!?!?! :eek: :cool: :cool:
 
Yea I was pretty sure that's where it came from, so I checked it out. This should be an amazing concert, and cant wait for it. PLus Satch's new album, and also hopefully Vinnie's will come out soon like he was saying. Like I said ALL my favourite players :D :cool: .
 
I'd like to see this. I love the way both play and sound (Satch and Eric). Longtime fan of Dave's too.

Anyone up for a roadie to VEGAS if they play there?

Might be a cool hang.

I think I was confused from the beginning when I read the message and also on Satch's site. So somebody confirm this, but it is ONLY going to be Satriani and Eric Johnson and Dave on bass for Satch?!?!?!:confused: So Steve, Planet X, Vinnie, JP are NOT going to be on this tour?!?!?!?!?! :confused:
 
It's not a G3 tour. Joe is going out to support his new album, Eric will be opening. Dave will be tearing it up with a Music Man next to Joe.

I never said it was a G3, I just thought that all the musicians in the parentheses were actually going to be part of the Colossal tour!!!! I actually was WISHGING for some kind of a tour like that to happen.....but now that I thought about it, it was impossible for that to happen these days. After ALL, if Dave was to play a concert with ALL the bands (I thought were gonna play) on bass, he would probably die after the first night. It was the realization, that Dave plays/played with ALL these guitarists that I LOVE!!!! :o
 
Dave is a stellar player - his tutorial video that he did a (fair) few years ago is great and I thought his playing with Mr Petrucci on the G3 DVD was nothing short of jaw dropping - great tone and incredibly steady and accurate right hand. Go Dave!:)

All the stuff in parenthesis are Dave's credentials....not tourmates...meaning those are the guy that DAve's played with in the past...

On that tip, I got my tix for the Nokia Theater in NYC.

Also, gonna attempt to get Roger Water tickets. Wish I had an American Express card.
 
Dave La Rue recorded Super Collossal with Joe and is preparing to tour with him as we speak. Eric Johnson is the support act for Joes's forthcoming tour...
