Derek, serial number help please

Hi Derek,

I just purchased a MM SR from Ebay. The serial number on the neck plate is: E29886. Can you help me with the year?

In passing, I had been looking for a sting ray and finally found this one on ebay with a buy it now option at $699. The seller said it was in mint shape, the guy owns a music store. When I opened the package I swera to god the thing was brand new. I cannot find a blemish, or smudge for that matter. The guy must have polished it and used latex gloves to case it. LOL

According to serial numbers I've seen, that is an extremely late model bass, like late 2002 or even 2003 (current).

Sounds like you got yourself a deal there, amigo.

Thanks for the response. When I got the bass I could not believe how pristine it was. I do feel like I got a good deal and a dman fun bass to play.
