I was just looking at the sweet 2006 LE JP that's on the Da Bay as in the other thread (http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17574). I don't know if I could bring myself to actually play it. I think I'd have to have my cake instead of eating it. :( It's so beautiful. :o

Are there any LE guitar owners out there who don't want to play their LE guitars? I think I'd be too scared to mess it up.

I play mine every day. I love it, it's settled in quite nicely over the years. But I treat mine like a priceless heirloom - no rivets and belt buckles, it lives in the case when it's not in my hands, almost no one plays it other than me, I polish it and keep the strings fresh and the set-up perfect, etc.

I remember reading a Car and Driver magazine where they were testing this privately owned Ferrari Enzo. They asked the owner if he planned to drive it, he said "Of course, It was designed to be driven, hard. It's not something you hang on the wall and look at."

I feel that way about my guitars - treat 'em nice and play hard. The only exception is an old Gibson I have that's 45 years old and almost perfect - I'm saving that for posterity.
 
Not to steer away from the topic but does anyone actually gig with them. I know that when I get my 20ASilo I am going to play the heck out of it but I am having second thoughts as far a gigging with it.

You might as well not bother getting it if you dont gig with it!

These guitars are made to be played! Besides, the sound better after their first few dings!
 
I treat all my guitars like a LE they are always polished set up and well taken care of. They are to nice to treat like a Fender.
 
i play them all.............. and i keep them shiney and clean as well ,the battle scars will happen regardless,,,, like everyone else here said why buy them if you dont play them? seems a waste of money to me if u dont! just my opinion

I generally find mine also sound better when I let other people play them!:D
 
Guitars are tools------sometimes beautiful works of art too---but still tools. Instruments need to be played----especially acoustics---they suffer from just sitting---even in controlled environments. Some say older pickups sound better because they have had thousands of hours of voltage run through them. Even stradivari are being played----most of the good ones are in the hands of concert masters where they belong!!!!!

Good post pauldogx.....once my LE Bongo gets in my hands, it is off to band practice and will be at the gig. I plan on melting a 2 square mile block with that bad boy....who cares if it gets dinged, scratched or whatever....it was meant for war! LOL :cool:

I have a Petrucci LE, even though l don't really play it much anymore, because the Luke will always be my no. 1 guitar, and love it. But a guitar is built to be played imo, wheather it's a LE or just a standard guitar. Play it, be proud, and don't hide a guitar.
