DOB Q + Pic of my 3 Axis...

I took delivery of my new (to me) Axis Super Sport this morning, restrung it and set it up, and just finished using it in anger tonight. I'd like to get a Date of Birth if I may, serial # G07384

And here's a pic of the trio:

I do love these guitars....

What are the tonal differences between those 3 Axis?
I notice all different bridges on 'em....nice by the way!

Tonally the three are surprisingly distinct... The Sport is the "most different" of course, with it's solid (Swamp?) Ash body, it has a round, breathy, more open tone than the others, softer in the attack but with excellent faux Strat and Tele sounds (plenty of twang on the bridge in-between position). The Axis Super Sport and Axis are closer together, but the Axis seems to have more presence and slightly hotter output (perhaps due to the simplified electronics), and the trem gives it a "airy" quality that I like... The Axis Super Sport is like a Tele on Steriods - the Arnie Swartzenager (sp?) of Teles! - and it has a real direct, aggressive tone that sweetens up real nice when you roll back the volume &/or tone... They all play beautifully, of course

Cool, thanx for the review!! So they're putting the "stratty" in between position on those Sports...I know what U mean cuz I have the Petruccis...it's surprisingly good!

Ahh, different guitars for different "flavors"...speakin my language!
