drop d tuners in the uk

I am in desperate need of a drop d tuner, the only websites that I can find are in the US and either charge a ridiculus fee for shipping or don't ship to the uk. It's driving me mental I tune drop d on two or three songs, and keep forgetting thus playing songs out of tune looking like a right cabbage, can someone please help as I cannot afford a five string!
 
Not to be rude, but my band plays in several different tunings and dropping to D takes a mere 2 seconds and that way I don't hack up my beautiful "balls." :D

Put up with it until you can afford a 5-string. You will be much happier and more versatile IMO.
 
Put a hip shot D-tuner on it (remove 4 screws, take off tuner, put on d-tuner, replace 4 screws - hardly "hacking it up"). Start saving for a 5 string. When you get the 5, reverse steps one through 4.

Cheers guys, thanks foy you're replys, however sarcastic they are. I've emailed hipshot twice but they can't be arsed to reply! I cant afford a fiver, and when I canil be getting a decent one as opposed to a cheap one which il sell and lose money on. Basically I keep forgetting to tune back then play the next song and wollop guitars out of tune! I believe warwicks come with it as an option so i wouldn't describe it as sabotage, but can't find anywhere that stocks them in the uk
 
Sarcasm's big here MM Scarb, you'll get used to it or fed up with it.

Personally, I just tune down for the one song in our set that uses it.

You could try house of guitars - go to www.basscentre.co.uk (or .com) and call the No nearest to you.

The bass player in the band on after us tomorrow night plays a Stringray with a D Tuner. I'll try and remember to ask him where he got his from as I konw he put it on himself after he got it and we asre based in London.

You could ask hipshot if any local dealers have them.

speaking of drop d tuners, do they ratle if their in the drop position...

is it possible to hook your whole bass up with drop tuners, and keep the bass on the d-tuned postion in standerd tuning (EADG) but then switch the drop tuner up to regular position for a tenor bass like Stanely and Wooten have (ADGC)...?

Don't know if it would be mechanically possible, but you really wouldn't want to do that... the truss rod wouldn't be able to cope with the difference in tension.
