EB-6180 Volume Pedal - tuner out problem???

Hi.
I'm new around here. Just got the 6180 vp and I'm very pleased with it, except when using the tuner out. When using it with heal down nothing happens. No signal gets through. :confused:
Is there something I have missed or any suggestions before returning it to the dealer?

I haven't used the 6180 (I know that's the one for passive electronics). I have the full sized pedal and the tuner out is very straight forward. The whole purpose of having a tuner out is to be able to tune when the heel is completely down.
