Question EB MM Axis SS... How'd they get the truss rod in there!

Just checkin my EB MM Axis SS. ( S/N G16820). It's got a one piece birds eye maple neck (I think). Fretboard is integral to the neck, and I can't see any joints or book matching. How'd they get the truss rod in there? :confused:

From my viewpoint, it's the silliest signature guitar change I can think of. A/B comparison reveals that the Peavey is an inferior copy in every way. It makes Guthrie Govan's move from Suhr to Charvel seem down right logical by comparison.

Just my opinion :-)
 
Dude the peaveys are awesome! I actually like them better. But i love the evh. The build quality of the wolfgangs are unrivaled.

Nice one Dave! I played a Peavey once. I was amazed at how different the neck profile was. It's almost like it was designed by a guitarist other than Eddie. I'll keep my Balls, thank you!
 
The Headstock looks so wrong to me, and bodyshape looks like a 6 year old stretched a pic of an axis around
I played their Cirrus Basses for a while, and they are great Instruments for sure
But we're on the MusicMan Forum here, so my final point is, EBMMs are better ��
 
I'm currently thinking about selling my two PRS aswell, since I didn't play them for 3 years or so
And they were my Pride and my absolute Favorite
But Big Poppa and his guys in SLO just know how to build perfect Instruments, and EVH only left because of his management or so, I'd have to read that article again to be sure.
I believe they didn't wan't another Top Player besides Eddie to play MM so when BP wanted to make a Guitar for Luke, Eddies Managers went to Peavey
 
Takin my thread back! Hi DirtyHippie, this is the video.

Sterling Ball does a factory walk through. Around the 10 minute mark he shows how the maple "fretboard" is cut off the neck blank and glued back on after the truss rod is installed. Interesting thing is that the 'fretboard' has the shape of the headstock on it at that point, and the whole neck is shaped after the fretboard piece is glued on.

I'm just wondering, do the Rosewood Necks get built the same way? Without a seam?
I never had a Rosewood Necked MM in my hands
 
I've always wondered that myself. Also i wonder why they some companies do graphite or titanium rod reinforcement while others don't. I don't seem to notice too much of a difference.
