I just re set up my EBJP6 with EB 9-42s. And I cant get the action lower than 2MM on the low side and 1.5MM on the high side without buzz. Now I would like to get it lower but I HATE fret buzz!!!!!!!
Just FYI....

The neck is almost totally straight
The bridge is level
The saddles are at a mid point in hight

Its strange cause I love my (Gasp!!!!) USA Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Strat (with full scalloping) with a very high action (3.5MM on the low side and 3MM on the high side) and all my other guitars with a super mega low action reguardless of string guage or tuning.
I just dont want to hear any buzz. I hate that!

I've got mine at 1/32 of an inch, on the high e side, and it buzzes acoustically. Doesn't sound through the amp at all. JP's axes all buzz acoustically, so... that'll do for me!
 
How have you been trying to adjust the height? Typically, you wouldn't want a perfectly flat neck anyway. Also how are you measuring the height? To the fret wire or fretboard?

I measure my JP6 at the 12th fret high E at 1.5mm, and low E at 1.5mm also at the 12th fret. I get a little buzzing acoustically, as mentioned above, but nothing that comes through the amp.

My relief is very minimal, however there is some relief there. Capoing the first fret and then fetting the last fret (testing the low E, G and high E), I can tap in the middle of the fetboard and see a small amount of relief. If you are not able to see anything when doing this to yours you may well have tightened too much and given yourself backbow. If so, then loosen the truss rod until some slight relief sets in.

You might also carefully sight down the neck and look closely at your frets to determine if some of them have popped up, or if the board has a hump in it. However, I think it's more likely you have something adjusted improperly.

Where does the buzzing occur? Open strings, higher up on the neck, lower on the neck... all over?

I, too, have an Yngwie Strat... USA version as well.... and I love it! The action on mine is higher than I would have it on my others due to the scallops, just like yours. It's amazing how the scalloping changes all that. Anyways, it's cool guitar for sure. Definintely one of my favorites, if not my favorite. ;)

First I set the bridge so its leveled out then I get the neck fairly straight its got some relief. then I adjust the saddles to where I like the feel of each string. It just happens to be too low for no buzz. :( I measure from the 12th fret from both Es.

I don't think in my opinion setting your action that low is a very good thing to do tone/sustain wise. I always thought that the lower the action the easier it is to play wich is true to a certain degree but I think once you go past a certain point you start to lose a bit of tone/sustain you had because the string doesn't have the space it had to vibrate fully. I agree with RandomHero your going to get a bit of fret buzz acoustically no matter what you do especially at lower actions.But hey what do I know I'm just a nobody lol!

So ****ing What?! Im a low action junky And I KNOW Im not the only one here whos the same as me in terms of action preferences(:
 
i recently opened about the same post. my ebmm petrucci also had high action (2mm at 12th fret) it was very uncomfortable to play. then it was set up to lower action (1,6mm or 1/16"). there was some fret buzz but the guitar was playable. the fretboard wasn't flat.

i'm also VERY picky about my guitars. i sent this one back because i discovered a little dent in de fretboard at the third fret. there was also some glue at the top nut. now i have to wait for another 3 months for getting a new one.
