Hi everyone,

It's my first post in these forums, and from what I've seen already it looks like an excellent place to discuss our life's passions! ;)

I was wondering if there were any other folks from Australia around here would be able to give me a hand with finding EBMM dealers. There is only one I know of which is www.guitar.com.au but I'm wondering if there are any others.

I'm dead serious about buying my dream guitar - a fully-optioned JP6 and it's about time I got serious about taking the first steps to heaven :D

Robelinda is from Australia and he purchased a few EBMM this year :rolleyes: ;)

I am sure he will provide you the necessary info to realise your dream !

I've bought many a ball, but i've only played a handful in the shops. guitar world in brisbane is good to deal with, as per the link you posted. they are a big buyer so they can provide good deals for you. dont know of too many others who are any good. its a bit barren in Oz.
 
Hi, I know that the Billy Hyde guys are EBMM dealers but I've never seen too many in their stores. There's also another guy up here on the Gold Coast called Mr Musicman I think.

Try calling Pat or Carol from CMC in Sydney they're the importers they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Rob - would I be right in saying that you bought all your guitars from Guitar World? If so, you seem to have dealt with them a fair bit so I guess that gives me some confidence in them.

Simon - pardon my ignorance, but I've never heard of CMC!
 
Yeh I didn't want to say anything about them just yet :)

I won't enquire any further about your secret source. I only wish I trusted overseas eBay sellers more, because Aussie prices are through the roof!

welcome to the forum!

i bought a jp in australia about a year ago
ill tell you how i went about it

i emailed every ernie ball dealer in nsw and act (got all of these contacts from the cmc music site( cmc is the australian distributor for ernie ball but you cannot buy direct from them, has to go through a dealer ))

so i stated to each dealer the exact guitar i was after
(fully loaded mystic jp6)
and said i would be paying cash and what would their best price be
not all of the wrote back
but a few did and i got some ok prices (PM me if you want finer details)

and it turned out that by some magical stroke of luck that exact guitar was here in stock in the cmc warehouse (was going to be for a trade show)

so instead of a 6-8 month wait, i had a 5 day wait :)

the best price i got from better music in canberra (best music shop in aus if you ask me)

dont worry about where the dealer is
freighting it to you will be no worries

Well hi all,

I just put down a deposit for a fully loaded Mystic Dream JP6. Should hope to get it late January next year.

Apparently I caused quite a stir with CMC as they were getting phone calls from the 28 dealers I emailed all asking for the wholesale price for the same guitar. Woops.

It wouldn't be in the system just yet. I only got off the phone with the dealer this morning, so he would still have to contact the supplier who would have to contact you etc.

the best shop i go to is called Eastgate Guitars, in Balwyn here in Melbourne, a guy called Jason is just great, he's a good pal of mine. great shop, great people. I recommend to all my students go there. always give top notch service and advice.

Serious?! That's the place I bought it from!

We spent a couple of minutes discussing DT before getting on to business.
 
Indeed... Jason refused to give me an internet quote over email and made me email him my mobile number so we could talk personally.

He is genuine about service. I actually ended buying from Eastgate even though Better Music quoted me $50 less (big whoop).

Haha he even said that he would try to organise a meeting with JP just because I bought from him... apparently he's done it before.... but I don't care if it doesn't happen :)
