This beauty arrived today:

http://photobucket.com/albums/b18/TwAn1981/EBMM%20Axis%20Sport

Signed by Ernie and Sterling Ball! This is one great guitar!

It needs a new set of strings and the neck needs a little cleaning and oil treatment, but apart from that (and a small ding on top of the headstock), it's in absolute mint condition!

Now I just need to find out what's the best way to stop the signatures from fading. I'll take BP's advice and e-mail dudley about this one!

Two more things:
- Serial nr. is G00640! If anyone could find a DOB, that would be great.
- It arrived in a beatiful light brown case with orange interior (also pictured). Is this original?? (I sure hope so...)

To all at EBMM: this 'one of a kind' is in good hands, I'll take very good care of her!! I'm so happy!! :D

Thanks!

TwAn.

Congrats! Half of me is kicking myself for sharing the link, but it's good to know it's still in the family. ;)

It looks fantastic. I'm digging the tan case too.

Congrats again. BTW did you end up contacting Dudley to find out the best way to protect those signatures?

I e-mailed him. I'll post his reply!

To nad: I'm sorry 'bout this, but I just couldn't resist! Thanks a million! If you're ever in Belgium, always welcome!!

The signed bass is in the private collection of Musik-Meyer in Germany. Here you can find a picture of it (bottom of the page): http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/TOWN8019/mycustompage0020.htm

I don't think they're going to be selling it to me... :D

Great pice of history and even better that it can be with someone with an appreciation for the company and its products.
Tres cool

Hey Twan, those cases are pretty rare and I think they were available for a short time in 1998 or 1999. They are original G&G cases and were made for Music Man. Enjoy your new Axis!
