Question EBMM Musicman Black Magic Crystal Axis Pickup covers

Hey there guys,

I am looking to buy a Black Magic Crystal Axis and i don't really like the look of the pickups having covers. Does anyone know how they're "attached", soldered, vaxed? And they are regular zebra hums underneath right?

I would call EBMM customer service and ask them. They should know the answer for sure. The number is on the EBMM website.

I am in Denmark, maybe they could offer insight via email? Anyhow the guitar should be at my place by friday if everything works out. Can't wait to get my hands on an Axis again.

Yep, that worked just fine Covers are soldered, they were not sure if the pups are zebra or just black since they came from Dimarzio with the covers on.

By the way - make sure to post a HNGD message complete with LOTS of pics! Without pics the guitar doesn't exist . Forum rule.... That is a GREAT finish you're getting.

There will be pictures Yeah i like that finish just not crazy about the covers and the "tone" knob is probably gonna be replaced with a strat type as well.

Got word back from Dimarzio, both bobbins are black. Oh well

Yeah, they are on there for good. I bought a pair online and was going to swap them into one of my Axis guitars, but the routing wasn't big enough.
