How quick is Music Man in delivering special order basses? I am considering ordering a teal single pup Bongo. What color pickguard would be cool with that bass?

If they have to build it up to 6 months i had to wait like 6 months and a week and i was like freaking out cause i was ahhhhhh its never coming loll.. But if its in stock in pretty soon... if you go to a store that is a chain you should see if they have it in stock in other stores and they can have it the next day

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm gonna check out an abalone pickguard. SIx months sound fine to me. It will give time to save up the money!

check with Bass Central (and also other FORUMITES that are dealers) , their stock is pretty huge.

I just looked at abalone, it's nice. I liked moonstone too. I want to special order from a local dealer. I don't mind the wait.

The normal lead time for an instrument ordered from us is 12 weeks. what happens is sometimes the dealer holds the order until they place a master order. Also sometimes we are to blame if the instrument has any setbacks. you can usually count on about 12 -15 upon receipt of the order from the dealer.

Actully im really good at talking people down and being a hard a$# lol... It works pretty well... As long as you give them a face like you really want it and start walking out taking your time they normally give you the price you want... i got it from my grandma... I talked this one guy down from a 1800 head down too 1200 with the hundred dollar footpedel <----that price is with tax and shipping included brand new still in the box under warranty. besides you wouldnt charge me extra because you just lost a couple of thousand dollars... if i walk out and go somewhere else

My ma is big on talking down, but we grew basically in poverty so she had to if she wanted to get us kids the bare essentials so I don't really have any beef with it. Personally though, I just can't do it. If I KNOW the instrument Is Worth X$ then by all means I should pay X$ for it. Especially when it comes to MM. I Know these are great instruments, and I Know they're put together well and taken care of... so really unless it's been mistreated along the way or is used or something like that... What argument do I have?

I respect that... EB is worth it but 1800 for a head come one lol...

i usually buy most of my gear from a local shop where all the guys know me. I dont need to talk them down ever ... they usually have their stuff market cheaper than GC and I've been such a loyal customer that i never pay the what it says on the sticker ...

im not "hard" enough to jabber about prices ... ive found that a good relationship with the store gets ya hooked up: they treat u good, you come back (over, and over and over again)
