This is a San Antonio/Austin based music mag for local rock/metal/punk, etc. bands. It has a pretty wide readership and is considered by many to be the defacto music rag for this region. :)

Well recently their 2005 Reader's Poll concluded and the results were published.

In short, my band Thirteen Muses (hence the sig thingy), did pretty well!

Here's how we did:

Best Group of 2005 - 5th
Best Group Deserving a Record Contract - 3rd
Best Rock Band - 5th
Best Metal Band - 3rd
Best Male Singer - 2nd
Best Drummer - 3rd
Best Bassist - 3rd
Best Guitarist - 1st! (that's me btw! :D

Considering we only played in San Antonio three times (ever!) and four shows total last year, we think we made a pretty good impression!

Hopefully 2006 will be a good year for us, we are already booking shows like mad. :eek: ;)
 
First of all, congratulations. That is awesome.
When is your band playing San Antonio again? I'm going to be there for a few days in March and April.

We will be playing in SA March 12th at "The Best Damn Car Show", it's a KISS 99.5 event and they got such good response they asked us to do this show. Hopefully it will go over well, no telling! :o We are the last band before the awards from 4:20pm to 5:20pm.

We are playing again March 24th with Meek at The White Rabbit in SA. That will probably be a better show anyway, Meek is great band. I'd guess we're playing around 10pm for that show.

Those are the closest upcoming shows that are confirmed. :)

I've listened to mp3s on your site, no wonder you've done so good:D , what gear did you use to record that stuff (guess Jp) , your sound is awesome, so I'm interested what amp/effects? Sounds like a Boogie or 5150...

Hey thanks! I appreciate anyone listening to our stuff. :)

I use a Rivera TBR-1SL rackmount head and 2 Boogie 4x12 Recto Traditional straight front cabinets. Outboard gear is a TC Electronics G-Force and M-One with some continuous control stuff (all effects on those songs were done in real time to track, nothing post) and a volume and wah.

And of course, my EBMM JP7's. :D

I'll be in San Antonio on March 11 to see 30 Seconds to Mars at the White Rabbit. Now I have an excuse to stay one more day (to see you guys). I can't wait to finally see some EBMMs in action. I'll be there again on the weekend of April 27. Very cool!
