Well yesterday was a pretty amazing day for me.
I am new to this forum so I feel a brief introduction is in order. I have been playing guitar for 10 years, in that time GAS has hit me hard and I have been through more guitars and amps than I can even remember. I have always had mid to low level guitars though. Import Parkers, Jacksons, PRS SE models... you get the picture. I was pretty satisfied with my guitars because until a couple weeks ago, I had only ever played 2 guitars that were several thousand dollars, a Gibson Les Paul and a PRS Custom 22, both of which underwhelmed me big time.

Then I started picking up Musicman guitars at my local Guitar Center... and these were different! Definitely on a higher level than anything I owned or had played before. They were priced out of my league though, so I just drooled over them every time I visited the store.

Yesterday I stopped in with an amp and a guitar to sell, and went to stare at my dream guitar ( I have taken a liking to one particular JP6 over the last few weeks ) and was shocked to see it was now on clearance!
When the GC associate came back and offered me more for my amp than I planned to get, the wheels started turning. I went home and researched this particular model of JP6 and found out it was a limited run and decided I could no longer live without this guitar.

So I packed up 3 more guitars from my house, a 2x12 cab, and a small amp, and headed back to Guitar Center. Needless to say I left the store with a much lighter load :D

I am now the proud owner of a Ball Family Reserve JP6 in Black Sugar with the Roasted Maple neck.
This guitar is outstanding! It practically plays itself... I've never owned an instrument that was so smooth and enjoyable to play. The tonal options are incredible and it sounds amazing. I can't believe how great this guitar is.

Anyway, sorry for the long story, but I had to share with someone other than my wife (who really doesn't care too much).

I snapped a couple quick pictures this morning.

Now I'm off to go play some more before work

Epic NGD, indeed! You have scored the best ebmm limited run ever: Black Sugar Roasted Maple with an ebony fretboard. Congrats!

How's THAT for a Post #1, a NGD, and a JP6 no less!

Congrats on the guitar Jay, I'm jealous on that roasted neck! I have JP6's, I think they're the best EBMMs.

Oh yeah, by the way...there's no cure for the addiction :D

Well done. I am getting the exact same model and spec in 3 weeks.
Enjoy.

Very nice story! Congrats and welcome, try to stick around there is a lot of useful information in this place.

Congrats on your purchase. Looks sweet and I be it plays killer. Music Man guitars are by far the best guitars made. Very high quality.

Thanks for the kind words!

My other guitars have been completely neglected since I brought this guy home.
It really blows my mind everytime I play it just how great it is.
Next step, change the strings that have been on since it left the factory a couple years ago :)
