So the Aguilar cab arrived, no problem. But the AG 500 amp is lost. Never showed up. I guess FedEx ate it. So today, I got frustrated and impatient. Went to Galaxy Music and sold my Trace Elliot rig. Of course I didn't get what I wanted for it, but I didn't feel like Ebaying it either. Went straight to Atlanta Bass Gallery and Jim Rubio (nice guy) sold me a Thunderfunk TB550. I'm happy. At least until the Aggie shows up and I have a tough decision to make. Probably keep the Funk. It's nice.

You guys ever have a weak moment?

Yes.

I spent money I didn't have on a single H when I've already got a HH. And even worse is that I got this little Ampeg BA112 just begging to be replaced by a nice rig.

Very nice rig you got there. Hope it sounds as good as it looks.

I had one of those for a while, and did the same thing :D

Never really dug it that much.

Fuzzy! It's raining. The sky burst forth with its fruit. Heard its been raining all day up there in Phoenix. Finally getting something down here in Tucson other than wind and clouds.

As for the 112, I keep telling myself to hang in there. Don't need anything bigger since I'm not gigging and I'm trying to pay off my truck. Once I get the truck paid off, I'm gonna go a little crazy.

Hey, if you wanna re-live old times, I can leave my ba112 for you somewhere on the side of I-10 around the sky harbor exit. I can see the police report now... :D

I know! It's still going strong here at the US Airways Center, and from what I hear, still coming down in Mesa.

I've soured on Ampegs as far as amplification goes, but I love my 610HLF! I had a B2R for a while, and just couldn't coax a good tone/volume out of the thing. My GK 800RB blows it away.

As far as replacing the BA112, I just got a 4ohm SWR 210 and run my 800rb through that. Works for me!

I'm thinking about partnering up an 800RB with one of my Neo 2 12s as a practice rig. Whatcha think Fuzzy?

I think I would go with the Backline 600 if your not going to use the 100 watt power section of the 800RB. At about 3 bills it's only a dollar a watt! I played one at NAMM through a Neo 412 and it sounded great.I might get one myself......

The B2R is an okay head, but seriously underpowered. That may be why you don't think fondly of Ampegs. Try something with major power and you might feel differently.

I have one of those little rocket combos....can't remember what they're called, maybe a B50R or something? It's the fifty watt, and there's also a 100 watt version. Anyway, it's a fine little living room amp, great tone and all that, but I can't imagine doing an actual gig with it.

Bass is all about power and headroom.

And t-shirts.

I gave my B2R the boot a couple of weeks ago, and now rely on my GK 700RB w/540w power plant to drive my 410 and 115 cabs.

I also just ordered the Ashdown MAG 300H bass head for the times I only use my 115, and want that British tone.

I gave my B2R the boot about six years ago and never looked back. How many times can you hear "Hey Can You Turn Up?" knowing that you can't:rolleyes:

You really do get more bang-for-the-buck with the GK's. I still prefer Ampeg cabs (for tone) to the other manufacturers, but my Backline Series cabs do a damn-fine job!
