Finally Found A Trans Green Stingray- Pics, mp3s and Vids Inside

I've been looking for a transparent green Stingray with a matching headstock and a maple board FOREVER, and one finally popped up, courtesy of our own Bryan_G.

The bass is gorgeous- EBMM's trans green over ash is my favorite painted finish of any bass ever, and this one is a great representation of it....although a lot of you guys HATE this finish :D It's strength is in its pickup and 3-band preamp- unplugged it lacks the loud harmonics and depth that my Elricks have unplugged, but when plugged in you can dial in those harmonics and a lot of the depth. Very different sound that most of my basses, and a killer slap tone.

I've also put a homemade radiused ramp on it (I usually have Rob Elrick build nice ones for me) and the strap pins are off awaiting the arrival of a set of Dunlop dual design straplocks.

Why's that weird? :D I wear my strap at a different height than my knee, so playing seated with a strap keeps my basses elevated to where I like 'em.

psst, check out the pics closer, the man doesn't have any strap buttons.
Sweet looking bass though, I could do without the ramp, but whatever floats your boat. Different strokes for different folks!
 
I'm guessing the 'ummm, yeah' was supposed to be uttered in a Beavis and Butthead manner, as in:

.....he said 'strap on'

That's just a guess, because at first I didn't notice that there were no strap buttons at all.

Just a Boss RC-20XL. I'd like to find something with multiple separate loops though as it's pretty limiting as it is- the Looperlative looks great but it's expensive. I'm going to check out the RC-50s when Guitar Center gets them in.

It effectively reduces the distance your fingers can dig in when plucking, so you get a more consistent light touch. It also stops your fingers just after they go through the strings, so it's possible for a ramp to let you play faster, as your recovery time after plucking the string is shortened. I usually use a thumb-and-three fingers plucking method, and using a ramp makes it far, far easier to do so. It's quite difficult for me to pluck that way without one.

That's a real classy looking instrument right there. And that ramp, well at first I really hated everything about it, but now I'm getting used to seeing it on there and if you could match the trans green finish on the ramp it'd look cool. weird, but cool.
 
Thanks for the info about the ramp....I have always wondered what they were for. I could probably use one, but I think I'll get by without it.
 
Maybe an odd request, but could you maybe tab out Stung? I think it sounds really cool. And you over dubbed, right? Nice bass. Cool song.
 
The color really goes on a bongo for the love of everything .Heinz is the first of the odd Jack loved.

I like the color and although I have all of the basses I need for my ability. One gets built that color Bongo 5 H I am so on it I would lose the wife if need be.

Hmm...I'm not even sure how I'd write a tab out, but it's basically just two chords- Em and Dm- after the harmonics intro, with some simple chord voicings. You're probably better off just watching the video and seeing where my fingers go :D
 
It means play a half step lower on the 3rds of both chords.

E triad is E G# B. Minor chord G# is G( or b3 when playing the three major notes that it takes to make a chord.

b3 of D is F where the normal third is F#

Does that explain?
