Well she finally arrived! I have to say, I always thought I was content with my Ibanez sr405 and MIM p-bass and I knew the MM Stingray 5 would be a nice upgrade, but I had no clue what a difference it makes! First time hooking up the SR5 to my own amp system and I have to say, I'm extremely happy with the sound and the playability of the new bass. All smiles over here!

Just thought I'd share with you guys since my wife is clueless about why I'm so giddy. :p

Anyone know where I can download or order the manual for the bass? Judging from the other thread, the bass DOB is around April, 2003.

It's a big step up, isn't it?

Congratulations.

Most of the info you want (there really is no owners manual) is on the www.ernieball.com website. Let me know if you can't locate it and I'll go do it later tonight.

I used MIM Fenders & had a Geddy Lee Jazz prior to purchasing my first EBMM. Now every time I walk in a music store & see someone pick up a Fender I chuckle a bit.:D

But now you need a Bongo.

Yeah, now that I've gotten a taste of EB's, I don't think I'll be happy long-term with you one. ;)

I was mainly wondering about the 3-position switch and what exactly it controlled and I was able to find that info on the website..thanks!

Very nice!

Remember it is the first piece of a set, you know like china. You got to have a plate, a bowl, a saucer and a cup. Transposed to the EBMM collection, that's a StingRay 5, SR4, Sterling and a Bongo… though some people have a 12 piece set, or more!

Welcome to the addiction… :D

Koogie, the check is in the mail.

Chuck, I like the way you think.

BTW, did you accidentally call me again? The phone rang, I saw your name on the ID thing, but you weren't there.

Which is good. I was sort of, um, busy.

Broke the new baby in today at its first rehearsal, it sounded amazing! The entire band was all smiles...how the hell did I get by prior to owning an EB? 20 yrs of playing with toys it seems..hehehe ;)

It definitely makes one want categorize life into two eras Pre-EB and EB. Wow... And we called ourselves bass players back then... What a hoot!:D
