Help! First 100 handsigned jp6 or bfr

Alright folks,

Looking for some opinions from you guys on the forum as you know whats these guitars are like.

I have been offered a first 100 jp6 that had the sig on the headstock done by hand by JP but for not a huge amount more (i like the exchange rate in Europe - £) I could get a used bfr jp.

As i've never really managed to get my grubby paws on a bfr(ive owned vintage silo's, Lukes and an axis) how do they compare? Also how much stock would people put in having one of the first 100 made?

Both are fully loaded, non bfr has the air norton/Steve special pup combo, bfr has crunch lab/liquifire and both have piezo.

Or would I be better biding my time until a nice looking jp13 or something came along...hopefully for less cash?

Any help much appreciated
 
Myself I would like to have the regular Jp cause I really don't like the painted necks on the bfr Jp. Or I would wait for the jp13.
 
Well
I would see the 100 JP6 as more of a collector piece and the BFR as something you can play and make your own.
So I would say if you are looking for a "player" guitar go with the BFR.
I also say this having both a regular JP and a BFR. The BFR to me sounds amazing
 
I played a JP6 the other day and it sounded "dead" compared to my JP12 and others I've tried. Granted, I didn't play it for long but my first impressions weren't very good compared to the JP13, 12, and X. I agree with Voo, if you want a collectors piece get the JP6 but if you want a player get the BFR.
The JP13 had the best tone imo. The Illuminators really gave it an aggressive bite with lots of mids and beefy low end. Crunchlab has a little more scooped midrange. So if you want to go with a JP13 but love curly maple (I know I do :D) I think a BFR with an illuminator in the bridge (maybe add boost too) and you got yourself an amazing guitar.

Edit: The unfinished necks of the JP6 do feel better though

Luckily, I have both guitars. ("First 100" is 7string though)
Exact same pickups you describe.

BFR plays/sounds better.
But I just can't let go of my "First 100 hand signed by JP" Mystic Dream.

So, if I have to pick one, I would say go for "First 100 hand signed by JP",
since you may have better chance to own BFR later on...
 
What he said... You can always find another BFR JP... The first 100 are gonna be much harder to come by.
