Greetings, I've been a reader for about 6 months now and I've been very impressed the kindred spirit of this group....just a big happy family that loves their EB's!!
After playing guitar for 20 years... I finally purchased my first EB--the Axis Super Sport---custom made with $500 upgraded quilt top, Cherry-Burst, w/piezo vintage trem. I've been waiting for over a year to buy one...then I finally snapped at a deal on ebay. The person I bought it from was the original owner--had it custom made in 2003..(has a custom name plate) ....it was his baby...
After I received it, I played it for 2 hours...and I just didn't fall in love with it like I thought I would. I guess I'm more partial to arch-top solid bodies...wolfgang, les paul. And I can't justifiy keeping a beautiful, valuable guitar if it's not going to be my #1. The neck is incredibly smooth and clean....looks and feels factory fresh...truly mint condition. And of course the top is just gorgeous, and the array of sounds with the piezo blend knob is amazing.
The list price for this baby in 2003 was $2850 (i'm sure a street price around $2100). I bought it for a steal...at $1360 + shipping. I have no problem passing the good price on to a worthy owner (hence I came here first before going to ebay). She needs to be loved!
