Off Topic for sale thread follies

Sorry for bringing this up. But there is a newbie by the name of wrentcht that has replied twice to Random Hero's JP post in the For Sale thread instead of simply sending a PM to the seller. The post he is reposting has large amounts of photos, uses lots of bandwidth and makes it a PITA to check the FS thread. I personally like the FS thread and wish to see it stay for awhile. Is this not abuse of the FS thread? Or am I way off base?
 
it would also help if there weren't 6 pictures of the same thing on that for sale post.....that is also abuse of the thread.
 
Sigh. Dunno why it's so complicated for people. Just a little common courtesy is all that's required.

You would be suprised as to how complicated the internet is for some people. It never ceases to amaze me.
 
Yea it is abuse, that is, over posting of pics is and not cleanin up your mess when you are done is, so simpe but well some dont get it, sigh!

No, you're on target.

But wouldn't it just be easier to PM the noob and let him know the etiquette ?
I've done so a couple of times to others, and they usually apologise.

Good call on the excessive pics though :)

exactly Dizzy. I have pm'ed a few guys myself about posting non EBMM content in the photo album section and they ALL appreciated the heads up. it is the best method.
 
Sometimes they simply do not respond to the PM. Maybe their spam filter culled it out or something. In any case, it was the case in this case.

I sent him another message off forum (5 days later)(did not use this website what so ever) and now his feathers are all ruffled. He was so kind to leave his email address for the world to see. But I used a term he didn't like.

Is there a way of sticking post at the top of each for sale page stating the rules of the road??

I know there's a rules thread, but I must confess to not reading it myself - probably explains a lot!
 
I know that when I posted the sale of my ASS a couple of times, I had a few pics in there to hopefully entice potential buyers in - a couple of mobile phone pics is somewhat feeble for the sell if you can support it a bit more with a few good pics.

I guess a couple of small thumbs and a link or request to PM / e-mail for better / higher quality photos is the sensible way to go...

I've tried selling my ASS three times and no interest :( Oh well...

P.S. I deleted my posting and all the pics I posted!
 
i don't think there is anything wrong with multiple pics of a guitar for sale, as long as they are showing different aspects of the guitar. but that particular post had 10 or more (no exaggeration) pics and most of them were very similar.....just seemed excessive.

I agree that maybe 2-4 good pics with a message to pm for more is the way to go.
