Just an FYI... I was at GC Cincy last night ordering my new GK rig. One of the salesmen that I know pretty well (and is their BIG bass guy) was ordering a new SR. I asked him if he was getting a HH... and he had no clue as to what I was talking about - nor did any one else on staff. After about 5 minutes of back story and a visit to a few sites for picts he stood beside me in awe and is now ordering a HH on Monday.

Point being, the word on the the dual pups isn't out there yet (granted I WAS at GC:rolleyes: ). Don't know what you can or what is in the works, since I'm not a marketing guru, do but I know we (all the forumites) are working word of mouth from our end - but I am a bit concerned that the GC boys had no idea of what was available.

Thanks for the great products (they sell themselves once people know about them :D ). Just thought you should know.
 
The GC's in my area have been aware of the HH, HSC combos for a few months and partly because of me and BassMonkee informing them. The Marietta store is quite informed on the bongo as well. sometimes I'll ask at random about the bongo to a guitar sales person, just to see what their opinion will be,and it is usually positive. The store manager is always up beat about EBMM, and the bongo. And seems to know quite a bit about it and the new dual PU rays and sterlings.
 
Southpaw Guitars is advertising left handed SR4, 5 and Sterling’s now can be ordered with two pickups, I think BP made that pretty clear that is not the case, as of yet.

What would these stores do without us? :D
 
As a fellow lefty I am in full agreement with Psycho

What would these folks do without us? It was made quite clear that the dual pickups are not yet available on left handed models

Let me understand this, you can not order a lefty with dual pups or EB just does not manufacture them?
 
EBMM, AT THIS TIME, does not manufacture left handed dual pickup basses. You can't get the piezo option either. The reason for this is that it costs around twice as much to make a left handed model in the long run, and BP just wants to see Psycho Ward in pain. :p :D

Anyone know if the piezo will be offered in the future? If so, i think a future HH sterling with piezo (possibly fretless) will be contemplated.
 
But thank God Ernie Ball has always been there for the lefty ... so no complaints

None of us regulars on the forum know this information, although maybe BP will chime in to the reason(s) the dual pickup SR's and Sterlings are not availible w/ the piezo option. The reason I wonder why, is because you can order the piezo with dual pickup Bongos. I'm so glad I got the piezo on my fretless bongo.

I think it is simply that the preamps in the SR4/5 and Sterlings aren't built for handling the piezo. So if there was to be a piezo option for the aforementioned, there would have to be a separate buffer/blending preamp for the piezo.
The Bongos have an altogether different preamp.

That they do. On the other hand, "thunder" isn't exactly what comes to mind when piezos on a bass are the subject;)

Adouglas and Alvabass seem pretty addicted to their piezos, and i wouldn't mind having one bass with the option too:D

I don't know, but doesn't piezo pickups add a lot of unecessary noise to the signal? I mean, the dual-pickup bongo is "hot" enough in my opinion without having to worry about the extra noise.

Well, you CAN get a single humbucker SR or Sterling with piezo so I'm not sure your first statement is true.

Piezo doesn't add any noise. Plus you can dial it in and out as you please.

ps. not so long ago, I hit on a very kool tip, mostly for piezo/fretless/roundwound playerz about how,
besides playing technique, to reduce 'fingernoise'
(hint = it's about a few strategic wipes with xxxfine sandpaper)
