ok im dumb but look... im trying to figured out when turning the trust rod if your turning clockwise you will raise the finger board, if you turn it counter clockwise you will lower it... but how do i know which is clockwise and counter clock wise it all depends on which way your looking at the bass ... is it this true if im looking at the bass from the pup toward the head... or visa versa?

With the Bass on a flat surface and looking from the pickup in the direction of the headstock:

turn the truss wheel clockwise to raise the fretboard (less relief) and counter clockwise to lower it (more relief).

In the play position, rotate in the direction of the floor to raise the board and towards your body to lower it.

take it to a good repairman and get a tutorial from them. more hands-on should bolster retention.

Of course for the leftys, this is opposite of how it works for them.

Since I do so many things as a lefty, I have a tendency to see these things. :)

But, it also wouldn't make sense to try and turn the rod adjustment wheel from two feet away, either....
