Very interested in playing a Guitar/Bass duet "Sacred Strings".

BP -- Just to clarify...are you looking at putting together one guitar, one bass, and drums for the entire gig, or allowing one song each to a number of guitar and bass playing combinations?

that is a very cool idea man i wish i was going you guys are going to have a blast

Okay, I'll play. I feel VERY nervous about this, but WTF.

You guitards! Biff! Whoever! I hereby declare my intentions to play "Little Sister". I will handle bass and vocals although I am known as a whizkid on the washboard, too. Who amongst you is man enough (man enough = fool) to join the wrinkled up old Bovinehost on this classic tune?

the be in my video

Jack

This is a dream/nightmare come true.

OK It should be no suprise that I lack the social skills necessary to be in a band. I would love to perform at this to do. My NorMal schtick is to play my pieces with a CD backing tracks that I either:
recorded myself
Found on the internet
obtained via Guitar mags

One guy in a bar tonight said "I thought you were just doing some sort of guitar karoke thing till I realized that there's no one around that could keep up with the stuff you're doing" It's just what I do.

I do have a couple of solo things that I could do, ie classical and such but I'm thinking you want this thing to rock!
So here is what I would like to do.
My thing. If there is a PA there (like for vocals) I can run the backing tracks through that (along with the piezo for my ax).
To limit it down to just a couple of songs I would love to do Steve Morse's Vista Grande (permission would have to be granted of course) or an original piece that Keith and Darrell have herd before and a piece that I did for GC Guitarmageddeon this year. I can set up, play and be gone in 12 minuets at most. If you want more I got that too.

Being dyslexic (sp) and ADD (OMG something shiny) it's tough for me to do something "simple". If I have to I will suck it up quit being such a baby and do some workhorse stuff for any bass player/ vocalist. Or I will be happy to watch from the sidelines and learn about teamwork.

Heck I'm just honored to get to come.

I nominate two knuckleheads to play Fri night:

Lucious and Lurker!

:D

Man, I'd like to play something, but in front of this group I think I'd cave!

Okay, so I'm still needing someone to play guitar.

My GOD, you guys make this so hard when it should be so effin EASY.

Guitarists! Listen to me - "Little Sister" in E. Who's in?

is there anyone besides me that thinks we may want to use someone as the coach ...or band leader....or open mic host or whatever yood call it. i think it would help the communication factor alot....& make things smoother. anyone agree or disagree ????
mabey the same on the bass side......

i volunteer for the guitarist...

Tommy, if you wanna do Whipping Post, I would be happy to second geetar the harmony alongside ya!

After I get an IV, I love doing a mean version of
Born to be Wild
The possibility of doing vocals increases proportionally with the IV flow

Or are we/BP lookin for 5-6 guys to play the whole show? If so,

Done! You can count on me.

This trip is getting better every single day. BP is not only inviting us but he's also trying us out, hell yeah, let's go for it then.

Ok, I'm not that sophisticated in playing my Morse, I get along on the thing fine I guess, but if anyone feels like doing some songs with me, well, I'm in.

Short list of things I can normally play by heart:
Plush - Stone Temple Pilots
Alive - Pearl Jam
Bombtrack - Rage Against The Machine
Gimme all your lovin' - ZZ Top
Born to be wild - Steppenwolf (although we normally play it with a lot more punch and gain)
Stuck in the middle with you - Jeff Healy Band version
Colorful - The Verve Pipe (from the Rockstar motion picture soundtrack)
The Road - Tenacious D
Basket Case - Green Day

There is more, but those jump to mind right away.

Arin, if you want to do some punk songs, I don't know any Rancid songs, but maybe we can find some other punk songs that I'm more familiar with or otherwise, I'll get familiar with 'em by the open house. Do you happen to know the Toy Dolls?

So, I would love to get on stage and play some.

Cheers, Tom.

are you guys going to record this on video for the poor people who cant make it? I'd think I'd like to see it.....of course though, then you would need the webspace to post them.....
