frose strings?

just wondering , back in the day I used to use a Kramer voyager that had a floyd rose, at any rate the string had a copper clip on the ends that would lock into the bridge when you clamped it up....just wondering if they still have the type of strings or do you guys just use regular strings and clip off the ends......thanks..

Snip the ball ends off...

I actually leave the ball on and thread the strings backward.

i.e. the ball is up at the tuning peg.

Been doing it this way for decades with no ill effects.

Just make sure when you turn the tuning keys that the string passes under the ball as you wind.
