I just wanted to let some of the local forumites know that Markbass has arrived at the N. Druid Hills GC. they called me as promised and already had five rigs on the floor when I got there. I tried all of them and my fave was the TA501 with the 610
cab. they're everything BP said they were. Now I have to make a decision.

Markbass in GC

August will mark the beginning of a new era in bass amplification for Americans! Guitar Center is proud to announce that it has become the exclusive supplier of Italian-made Markbass bass amp products in the U.S.

Markbass amps, cabinets and combos have been designed to be very simple to use. But the technology that allows them to be light, small, powerful and reliable, is a complex feat of state-of-the-art technology, developed over many years of R & D.
The initial rollout will start this August at some of the largest Guitar Center stores — Manhattan, Hollywood, Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville, Arlington Heights, Austin - and move out across the country from there.

All Markbass gear includes a 2 year Performance Guarantee.

The initial assortment will include the following:
BASS HEADS Retail Price
Little Mark II $999.99
TA501 $1,699.99
SD800 $1,999.99

BASS CABS: Retail Price
STD 104 HF $1,499.99
STD 151 HF $1,099.99
STD 106 HF $2,099.99
Traveler 102P $899.99

COMBOS: Retail Price
Mini CMD 121 P $1,299.99
CMD 102 P $1,599.99

Some day soon, Markbass will be in a GC near you.
Thanks, Ed

GC Hollywood also has MarkBass

Hey,

The MarkBass stuff really sounds great, especially the amp with the tude inside (TA 501) and the 6X10 cab (Standard 106HF). So, if anyone is interested in a Pre-Fender SWR SM-500 amp and/or an Ampeg 4X10HLF cabinet, PM me an we'll talk. ;)

I already have my Ampeg BA-115 Practice amp on the salesfloor.

They are pricier than in Europe (even considering the € / $ rate). But they are worse the money. Also considere the TA 503, with 2 tubes preamp (the tube in the 501 is for the compressor).

Those aren't the actual prices, they are retail? list? I believe a LMII is selling for $599 US.

Yeah take note of that. Its not like Europe, in the US...at least not yet.
GC is selling the TA 501 for around $1,100.

The TA-501 is the amp I'm most fond of at the moment. I just purchased the 104HF Cab today. Right now, I'm running my SWR head with it until I can afford the MarkBass amp, but nevertheless, I hear a significant improvement in sound.

Go MarkBass! :)

*ahem*

Stanky, is this the same one you were having troubles with before? If not,

WOO HOO!

Friends, we have a smart man here...

Oh no no no no. Not her.

This one is a big plus. :)

And now back to your regularlly scheduled thread. I'll try and head to the N. Druid Hills GC this Saturday. I'm anxious to try this stuff out.
