ok, whilst sitting in my office/dining room, playing bass through my rig (right next to the computer and noise free!) i look down to see the light from the monitor reflecting onto the maple board of my 78, and what to my wonderwing eyes should appear, but a oval of lines gouged into the fretboard on the 11th fret....

seriously, who plays so hard, on the 11th fret, so much that theres marks in the wood from the strings?

anyone here? i play hard with my plucking/picking hand, and super soft with my fingering hand (proper fingering requires a gentle touch :D ).

who's violent with their fretboard?

*raises hand*

I go crazy-go-nuts with my P-bass. I jump around alot and it gets pretty dangerous jumping around with a .88 triangle Dunlop in drop D. I play alot of mid-fingerboard does just because I'm too lazy to colobrate the notes on other strings.

I'm trying to take it easy with my new Lakland. When I had my Stingrays, I took it not so easy. I just couldn't pierce that thing.

If it's just at the one position, it sounds like the bass has taken a tumble at some point and landed on a hard corner.
