ive been listening to some Gabriel lately, i like him. always have.

Genesis are great, i really love the We Cant Dance album, even though i guess the hardcore fans dont like it and prefer the old stuff. Dreaming While You Sleep, Driving The Last Spike, great tunes!

Man, I love old Genesis!

Nursery Crime.. Foxtrot.. Wind and Wuthering.. A Trick of the Tale.. Selling England by the Pound..

All really great albums! (Yeah, somebody will ask why I didn't list Lamb Lies Down on Broadway... it's great too but the lyrics are too trippy for me. :D )

What I would give to hear Peter Gabriel singing with Genesis for just one evening..

Agreed

Genesis, with Peter, is my favorite band. They and Rush kind of switch spots depending on my mood, but they are different enough that I can like both and not feel like I am cheating.

I would definitely go and see a concert of older material, even if I had to travel to England or Switzerland to do it. Just to hear the old tunes with Peter on vocals and Phil playing drums like a maniac would be awesome.

I am not sure why Steve always seems to be the odd man out in these things, probably because he didn't experience the same success, but I thought and still think that he is a top notch guitar player. Some of his solo stuff has some very fine and interesting guitar work.

Anyway, yay! I would see "The Three" as well, but they would have to come close to Seattle for me to see them. Not the same draw for me as the PG era...

...strangely this has also recently been posted on Peter's forum but I have not seen this announced officially anywhere, therefore I would still take with a pinch of salt.

What you are about to read is true!

Peter Gabriel will reunite with Genesis for a special concert in a football stadium in Lisbon, Portugal (Estadio da Luz - Benfica stadium). The performance will be part of a big event. The main goal of the event is to announce the "new 7 wonders of the world" which are been voted across the globe. There is a list of 21 buildings and sites for you to choose from. Find more about the "new 7 wonders of the world" at www.new7wonders.com.

The event will be broadcasted to the entire world and the organization believes that it will reach the biggest audience ever. The ceremony will be presented by Sean Connery (the original 007) and Madonna will play a duet with portuguese singer Mariza.

Several countries in several continents applied to host the show. Lisbon was selected.

I heard on the local classic rock station that Gabriel wants to do the tour but has commitments through 2007 and has agreed to join them in 2008. I also heard that Phil Collins has agreed to go back behind the drum kit and let Peter front the band. How freakin' cool is that...

That would be absolutely awesome! I wonder how they would do it? The last time they all played together they were a lot younger and... thinner. I wonder if they are going to bring extra people in. Anyway, I better not get too excited until it actually happens and I am actually able to go.

A lot can happen in a year and half. So yeah I'll believe it when I see it and would I would definitely shell out the cash to see them.

Just need Steve Hackett on board then and my dream will be complete!

C'mon, if Gilmour and Waters have played together again then how hard can it be for these guys?:D

This is cool to hear.

I was just thinking about Genensis the other day. Disturbed did a cover of "Land of Confusion" on their latest album, and I just heard the song a few days ago. It took me back to the 80's, when Genesis had those insane looking puppets in the video.

Me too!

There are still some reasonably strong rumours floating about that PG couldn't fit this in in 2007 but may still join the party in 2008, in which case I'm sure Hackett would be in as well.

Fingers crossed!:D

milton keynes

i loved everything genesis up to duke and then they sort of lost it for me but last time i saw them was milton keynes where they did all the old tracks with gabriel who was brought on in a coffin....the line " its been a long time" got a great cheer and even though it rained it was one of the best gigs..especially when hackett came on!! fat chance of that ever happening again.

anyone seen regenesis???

Haven't seen Regenesis but I have a ticket for The Musical Box at The Royal Albert Hall next year. Apparently they do 'perfect' recreations of early Genesis gigs, including using many bits of equipment and projections etc aquired directly from Genesis!

I know what you mean about the post-Duke stuff, but apparently Genesis are intending to play a greater range of old stuff on the '07 tour than they have on the last couple of tours which dumped virtually everything pre-Duke.

Got tickets for Twickenham as well now. Woo hoo!:D
