Going price for a Dargie Delight H-H 5-string Bongo?

Hey folks. Can anyone advise me as to about how much a Dargie Delight Bongo H-H 5 string would go for now? I am making every effort I can to keep my bass because it sounds incredible (and looks even better - ha), but when there are big financial considerations, I have to be realistic and may have to finally sell it. I just don't have any idea what they are currently going for. I had a local guy ask me if I would be interested in selling mine, so I figured I better do some market research if it comes down to it. Thanks!

well, there are a couple of "unused" as in pre-owned NOS that seem to be in that $1400-1600 range so depending on the condition of yours, I would go from there.

I sold a Bongo HHp 5 string a few years ago for $1200. That seems to be the going rate. Don't let special limited edition runs sway your price expectations. A bass' worth is only what the buyer will pay.

The issue is that outside of this forum, most people have no idea what a Dargie Delight is, first or second run. They just see it as a green guitar with some snazzy inlays. If you are selling on here, it eventually should sell but if you're in a hurry, the limited edition thing can lose appeal.

I would think that there were not too many DDI 5 string Bongo's made so assuming that your bass is still in a 9 out of 10 condition or better, if you advertise with it it's rarity, that will help bring in the extra money. Also advertise it was a very limited run bass made in general thus adding to it's value. I also agree though with the other assumption of it being worth at least $1,400.00.00 or maybe a little more if you are patient. I would advertise it for $1,600.00 and then you have room for negotiation.

Outside of this forum, or not--rare is rare. I agree with Jay. Put it up for $1600 and see what happens.
