Are there any other differences between your head and the blue velvet, other than the cover? I have to admit, as a guilty pleasure I kind of like the blue velvet look. But if its the same amp without the extra $ I could always tack my own velvet on - maybe greene velvet :D

neastguy,

I've never heard of that brand, either. It looks solid, though! Nice and compact for a tube head. I'd love to hear clips if you get around to it..

Dude, I'm with you.

Zinky started by making the Smokey Amps.

Then they moved on up to become a boutique amp company, they sell for quite a bit, I've heard good and bad things about them, I guess it's a personal decision.

Zinky

Somebody here has a Blue Velvet, can't remember who.

Very cool...I've heard of Zinky and the velvet amps, but I have no idea what they sound like. Vintage Marshall?

I picked up a Top Hat Club Royale about a month ago, and ordered an Allen Old Flame last week.

aw crap!! now I'll have to post soundclips for you guys.......

Yes please :D Congratulations on your new amp, looks like a THD amp size wise - I love how compact those amps are... especially after lugging around heavy ass heads from gig to gig!

Sweet! How's she sound? I've never had a Zinky, but I did have an old F***er ProSonic that was tricked out by Zinky once. It sounded pretty good. ;)

I think the zinky sounds like early zztop with the ability to go up to a marshall sound and beyond...zztop on steriods. the OD is very tight and the sustain is all day long...I was looking for a compact head that I can do everything from my guitars volume knob and thats basically what I got....... my only complaint right now, is getting my delay and chorus to sound good and I'm having isssues with that....my wha and strobo is fine up front but my other pedals are sounding like doo doo...... I'm going to talk to Bruce the builder and see what he recommends......you really dont need pedals with this amp though...lol...but I need em doing covers.......I'll post clips sometime this weekend.....

I assume you have these in the effects loop (assuming there is one) as delay and chorus sound crap in front of the preamp on a tube amp.

I tried em both ways and I'm finding out that the loop may be more for rack effects...but he gave me this solution that I can try a short cable from the send (1footer) to the first pedal and then run a long cable to the pedalboard... I dunno, I'll give it a try.....something to do with low and High impedence...
