oh man... that's a loss for sure... it's a great looking bass...

I'm very grateful for all that i have... but man oh man i'd love to work in the music industry and be around this kind of genius all day long.

The pic came to me via a friend in the Netherlands. He's a luthier and player. I'll have to tell him to keep an eye out for the bass, who knows, maybe it will surface.

Trivia alert: The shades, Ray-Ban Wayfarers, had been manufactured since 1956 but popularity nose-dived in the 70's. But Ray-Ban paid some people some money in 1982 to get product placements in TV and films. "Risky Business" was one of the first big hits. In a just a few years, their sales were in the millions.

Ray-Ban Aviators have been around since 1936. Yet again, Tom Cruise (again!) gave them a new lease of life with "Top Gun" in 1986. Incidentally, the 'love theme' to Top Gun, "Take my breath away" by Berlin was a big hit and Grammy winner but almost didn't make it. Our very own Steve Lukather had written "Only You" with David Paich for the Top Gun soundtrack, but somebody made a decision somewhere else in favour of Berlin. "Only You" eventually came out on Toto's "Kingdom of Desire" album in 1992. KoD was Jeff Porcaro's last studio album, and the last Toto album Lukather would do before switching to Music Man guitars.

With BP and Steve and the great guitars in the photo, it's hard to notice but is that a Peavey amp in the background? Looks like a bass amp. And that does look like a SM prototype.

Yes that is a peavey, I had a 212 combo guitar amp that had the exact same aluminum side pieces.I believe it was the peavey renown series. His looks like a 1 15 bass combo.
