hey you guys, as some of you know i am the proud owner of a ha7000 head. its a 350 by 350 bi amp. im looking to set up my rig with all hartke cabinets. which ones do you guys recomend.

There's only one "Hartke" cabinet (IMHO) - the XL Series...

I'd recommend really old XL115 and XL410 cabs, one of each will give you the good old Hartke sound.

I also have a Hartke 7000 head. I'm using it with a Hartke 2200 cab (2x12). It's a 4 ohm cab that goes down to 29 hz. It's loud with plenty of bottom. If I need more volume I'll bi-amp it with a Trace Elliot 1x15.

I've been thinking about getting another Hartke 2200 cab or the 1800 (1x18) cab to really move some air. If I had a truck to haul it around in, I'd get the 2x15 cab. I love 2x15 cabs!

i forgot, if you dont biamp it, will it run at 700 watts?
im thinkin about gettin a xl115 and a xl 2.5 10
all of this stuff will be abught over a period of time though. prolly with the 2.5 10 first, just cause it is lighter than mine and i can carry it to small gigs and play at my church with it.

but first question is most important.

Hate to say it, but I worked for a music store in about '89/90. Used to trip over these things, there were so many of them in the repair shop... Not sure if it was a case of too much or too little power, but "the" rig in the day was a G-K 800RB with the 410 and 115.

You will be blessed with the full 700 watts with a 4 ohm load. If you DON'T bi-amp, that's two 8 ohm cabs. If you DO bi-amp, you can have two 8 ohm cabs on each side.

So if you bi-amp, that 7000 amp can drive two 2x15 (4 ohm) Hartke cabs!!!!! That makes me chomp at the bit!

I've got a 810xl that sounds really nice... i like it better than when I biamped the 410 and 115 approach. Right now I'm on 210xl duty only though (people don't like loud bass in tight quarters).

Yeah, they were never the most reliable boxes, but then their power handling was low and people really abused them. Still, if the speaker is to be a Hartke, those old ones are the best both sound and reliability wise.

Here's my current rig set-up. I bought the Hartke XL Series 115 Bass Module yesterday for $200; sounds BIG and clear!

Now, I've just got to find a pre-amp for extra 'coloring'. Looking at Ampeg and Tech21 NYC.

Looks a little similar to my set up the Ashdown amb evo2, the 500wt 210 combo version, with a Hartke 410 transporter cab for good measure.....cracking, guitarist scaring sounds with the SR5 - god I love those Ashdowns.

Yeah, not a bad used price for the 1x15. You know what's even scarier...

...the $150 I paid just a few days before that for the Goliath Jr. III...

Oh yeah, and the Ashdown MAG-300R was $350 new w/Overnight shipping!

i think in the end, ill put my money in 410 or a 210 and a 115. This is so i can just take the light 210 when i go and play at my church and stuff.

yeah itll be a while before i purchase these things, maybe after xmas.
