I like the plain maple headstock. I think matching headstocks can sometimes look cheap. Allot of Korean made POS' will almost always paint the headstock to get that "expensive" look. So now when I see an highend bass with a painted headstock it makes me think of that.

Matching headstocks can look cool with a dark color. It does look out of place with light colors like Lake Placid,or Emerald.
