To all, I've been talking with the seller and I hope you all notice that the pup covers and bridge have been scuffed up as well. This guitar is going to need a lot of work whom ever buys it. I was interested in it myself, but after looking at all of the work that would be required, I'm not sure. It needs a new neck, paint job those aren't gonna be cheap.

He wanted to make it personal and he did.

Oh my God, each to his/her own but my stomach is turning seeing that!

Wow. I just, can't quit believe that somebody actually did that?
Flabbergasted!

Can we give this person a prize of some description? I don't quite recall anything quite like that in my how many years on the forum? I'm so gobsmacked that my regular swear words have all been replaced by "goodness gracious me", "holey kamoley", "oh la-la c'est pas possible", and "je ne believe it pas"!

My brain cried out like Carrington did...WHY? WHY? beautiful guitar to suffer like that...

Hey to each his own. But whom ever buys this guitar is going to put some $$ back into it to get it close to original.

I saw that this morning and sent the link to a friend. The one word I typed?

"sad".

poor guitar. it just wanted to be loved! Is that so wrong?!?!

Wow - I'd love that as a project. I need something to get my teeth into since I resurrected my JP6!!

Trouble is $500 minimum plus $150 postage =$650 plus approx 25% vat and duty = about $800.
Plus a new neck from EB if cs allowed it (I dunno how much a new neck would be - say $400) total now $1200
plus get the back plate and bridge re chromed say $100 + New pickup covers.
Total now at $1300 and then there is a refin!! So it just doesn't seem economically viable for me.

Kev, I completely here you man. And if CS wouldn't do a neck replacement, you'd need to find another AL or EBMM for cheap $$.

I hope no one buys it and this guy is stuck with his guitar and his bad choices. Reserve would have to be about $250 to even get me to consider it.

My bongo is really beat up, but, that was through playing. Not some intentional "relic" BS. I think the whole "relic" guitar is a farce and would never buy one already beat up by the maker. I might shoot this guy a mail and low ball him. $500 for that is an insult. If not, he can keep it. If he reads this - so what.

Ok, I`m gonna out myself here... I was never a big fan of the AL`s but this ... this is just sick.

Koogie, already offered him $500, he's hoping to get a lot more. With the condition, I don't think so, but best of luck to him.
