Off Topic help...!! Marshall JVM410C vs Marshall Handwired 2061x

I have been offered a JVM410C and a Marshall Handwired 2061x with the cabinet for $800 each!!!! they are the ones they have been in exhibition at the shop. I have already a Mesa Mark V.

I have been looking for a combo (small One) for rehearsals. but for the price i have to buy one of the two.

I know for a fact that the Mark V doesn't do Marshall Tone and I guess any of them can give me plenty Marshall Tone. the JVM is complicated as the Mark V... but the simplicity of the 2061 is tempting, but defently i will need some overdrive pedals for that amp. none for the JVM (so many options!!!)

which one you will buy?? I have to go today!! or i will miss the oportunity!!

I would go withe the Handwired. None of the modern Marshall's build quality has impressed me that much.

I have the Marshall jvm combo and I absolutely love it.

Play them both and decide which you like better. If you want better reliability, the hand-wired is the one to pick. That's not to say that the JVM isn't going to be reliable. It's just that they get pretty complicated under the hood.

I just read a quote from Lita Ford that sums it up nicely;
"I relate it to having an old car. The cars that were built in the late '70s were strong and beefy. They had a lot of room inside. Whereas if you buy a car today, it's little and loaded up with a lot of electronics. And if you get into an accident, you're f^%$ed! [laughs]. The old Marshalls were built similar to the old cars. They're stronger, more reliable and there's less fiddling about with electronics and things you don't need."

I agree that the Mark V doesn't do Marshall. People who say Channel 2 can get you there make me wonder if they've ever played through a Marshall before.

Ya, you gotta play them both before you decide. They are SO different from each other, completely different animals.

If it were me, I'd get the 2061, but that just reflects where my head is sonically these days. A few years ago, I'd probably have chosen the JVM.

The JVM isn't that complicated dude. Knob layout is the same for each channel, once you learn it you're home. And you don't need any dist/overd pedals for it, plenty of gain available and all the famous Marshall sounds under the hood. Programmable footswitch is also a very cool feature.
I truly love my 410 head, best amp I've ever owned, loads of easy mods to do that make it sound even better then the stock one.

If your like/want the "Marshall" sound, then the JVM is the choice hands down - that IS the sound!!!!

Finally i bought the Marshall 2061 Handwired... just one channel but so many sounds with the Morse!!!

Congratulations! It's amazing how many sounds that you can get from a single-channel amp and working your guitar. Old school!

Probably the best way to do it. I use a modelling amp, but really only have two sounds!
