Help me pick out a six-string

Guys--

I'm a bass player by trade, but have been toying with the idea of doing some home-studio (and possibly coffeehouse-type stuff) solo work -- just me and guitar.

I have enough original songs for a CD and am dying to put them out there.

I was considering an acoustic or acoustic-electric...

BUT...

A few months ago I got my first EBMM bass - a brand-new Sterling. The build quality absolutely blew me away. It was truly beyond anything I could hope for.

So while going all-electric wasn't what I had planned, I'm dying to put another EB in my hands.

I don't do anything fancy when I play guitar (I leave the egotistical acrobatics to my bass playing attempts). I just need something than I can squeeze a wide range of sounds out of, that's not overkill if I just take it out to strum and do a bit of finger picking with.

Any advice? I'd love to get another EBMM, but I'm afraid I'd be in the presence of too much firepower for my needs.

Wise choice. Personally I would go with a SiLO with a piezo. It's about 3 bazillion guitars in one too. Plus yo get 2 more frets fer free.

I was thinking either the A.S.S. or an Albert Lee .. with piezo regardless.

Get the Albert Lee with piezo - great for finger pickin' struming and through some FX (pod) you can sound like Hendrix too !

I agree you should look into piezo equipped EBMM.

They pop up used every once in a while here. Saving you a LOT of money

Almost impossible to find one new in a guitar store.

But it would also pay to go try out a bunch of acoustic/electric guitars at a store. You may find one that feels right and sounds great.
