Help me pick, which Silo or Axis?

I think he meant that he is gonna get Axis with floyd or one of the silos. Axis is a great rock guitar, you can pull off great rocking tones and solos but it's not that versitile cause you only have 3 pickup selections and no single coils/split coils sounds. Silo is just a great strat, 10x better quality than Fender, you can also get the piezo which adds next sound to the collection

Do you prefer 22 or 24 frets? If you prefer 24 you'll have to go with the silo.
Do you like single coil in the bridge position? If so, it would limit your choice to the silo spec SSS.

get the silo special, you have a bucker in the bridge and single coils in the middle and neck, the most versatility you will get, I have 2 axis and a silo special and the silo is my main guitar for every tone I need, plus I prefer the neck, at least this week... -

I would chose the Axis only because I think the Silo's neck is too chunky. I like my Luke and Pleavey Wolsgang. the Wolsgang has a similar shape to the Silo just smaller so if the Axis is similar I would chose it. Of course the Luke is a versital instrument as well!!
The pups on the silo are great. Dimarzios. The singles are Blue Velvets and the bridge is a PAF I think. The included Silent Curcuit is a extra active coil under the pickguard that cancels the hum from the single coils. Nice single coil tone w/o the hum. If you do go the axis route I would strongly recommend the Super Sport. It has a tone knob and a more complex 5 way switch than the Axis.

well, my silo specials neck is wayyyy slimmer than my axis, and i prefer it to all my other guitars in terms of sound, playability etc. Sounds better than my custom shop strat by long way.

Choosing someone’s guitar is like choosing someone’s wife. It’s a personal preference.
I have one of each and I prefer the Silo Special, but that’s just me. If I was a shredder, I’d probably opt for the Axis with buckers. (My Axis is an older model with HSS.) I prefer the versatility of the Silo or Silo Special. If you’re looking for a Strat vibe, I’d go with the Silo.
The Silo bridge bucker is a PAF Pro, which is great if you are using pedals because the tone is tightly focused enough in the upper mids to cut through all the outboard processing. It can easily be heard in a band setting without cranking it up to deafening levels. This is the first HSS guitar I’ve owned, having been a single coil guy for a long time. Now I’d never go back to three singles. The bucker is coil tapped in the 4th position, so I still get that Strat type of quack and spank. Only it’s better than any Strat I’ve ever played. Dare I say better than any G&L I’ve played too, and I’ve had quite a few of them.
Best is to go try them both out, then choose.

Actually, new Silhouettes sport Virtual PAF pickups in the neck and bridge position now (since 2004). I prefer the Axis, of course, but as others have stated, it's a purely personnal choice - I like the petite body, asymetrical V carve neck and hot but articulate pickups in the Axis (though I should note that my FAVOURITE Axis sports MM90 pups). I would compare the decision to trying to chose between a Strat and a Tele - ultimately, I think you should try to play both, and choose the one that feels best, because they're really very different guitars...

They're all such great guitars ... I've had all of 'em at one point or another and there's not a bad one in the lot.
Neck size and pickup configuration are usually the deciding factors for me. The necks are all so different, you've just got to play a few different ones and find the one that suits you perfectly. (Or buy one of each and be done with it!)
