What do you mean you can't justify having 3 Axis'. That guitar looks amazing. Larry if you got that, you'd have 3 hot lookin' Axis'.
And all I've got to say about us forumites is great minds think alike. If I'm not mistaken, that's one of the axes from Wild West guitars. I check out there website on a regular basis to lust over the EBMM's they have. The ones that they have in stock, and the ones they have in their SOLD section are amazing.

on a side note: WW guitars has a Fender Custom Shop, Mary Kay, Limited Release, MSRP $7,400.00 WW: $5,180.00
WTF ? a friken $5,180.00 Fender re-issue ? That doesn't even include taxes.
A guitar with some gold plating and given the " Closet Classic treatment " (a few small dings, a mildly checked finish, lightly oxidized hardware and aged plastic
parts) ? Are the parts THAT good and it took Fender 120 man hours to make it ?
Mary Kay was (is) a great guitarist, however she played a D'Angelico until the New Mary Kay Trio where she played a tele.
So I ask somone who would buy this, "What really makes it worth so much money when MK never even played a Strat ?"
I could justify spending big $$$ on a strat if it had some significance like Buddy Holly's strat, but c'mon a friken closet treatment re-issue ?

It's not an upgrade top. I just called and had wild west check the backplate and it does not say "Custom Made" on it. While I had them on the phone I went ahead and bought it. I hope that helps you to not buy it.
