Hi everyone,

I need a new amp for home practising and playing on small places, somethin vesatile thats not bigger than 12 cab. I like vintage sound, campilongo for example.

How much would you like to spend?
200-350

What's the absolutely most you will spend?
400

How many years have you played guitar?
20
Do you seek tone quality or versatility?

What style(s) of music do you primarily play?
jazz-blues

What one guitarist do you wish to emulate?
none

Do you prefer to plug straight in, or will you be using effects?
Straight and sometimes effects
* If you plug straight in, you will likely require 2 or more channels NO
* If you use effects, you may prefer an effects loop NO

What will be the primary use of the amp?
bedroom/living room
jam with friends (guitars only)
jam with friends (guitars, bass, drums, etc.)

Do you prefer a combo or head/cabinet (and why)?
combo, space and one 12 cabinet only

What amplifier(s) do you have/had and why do you want a change?
Marshal head and cabinet jcm900, very loud, big and rocker to me.
Fender vibrochamp, very noisy
VHT classic, no equalizer

Please list five amps (minimum) that you have researched (if you can't do this, you're not serious)

What did you like about them?

What did you not like about them?

You'll need a minimum of 40w in a 1x12 combo to be able to play "live" and cut thru, with a little extra just in case the bass player has an Ampeg/Bongo set up.

Personally I disagree that he needs a minimum of 40w , ive got a Tubemeister 36 and just got a matchless avalon 30 and both are more than load enough to play small to medium gigs .
Just my opinion of course.

Disagree here as well - I have a Mesa Mini Rec that will easily fill the bill - I play in a 6 piece cover band (80's stuff)...

Of the amps the OP mentioned - IMHO the Peavey Classic 30 is the easy choice.

I had a Peavey Classic 30, and I agree that it will be loud enough, they sound excellent, and they can be had for very cheap.

I have used (in many locations) a Fender Blues junior 15/18 watts.

A fantastic amplifier that also like pedals driving it's front end.

You can also sell this on no problem as there is always a market for BJ's
