Hey you kind fellas out there,

I am about to make payment for my Y2D, via money order. I doing my first online purchase. Anyone can advise me how to make a money order at the lowest fee charged? I hope to pay online using a credit card. And I am paying from CA.

Please advise me! Please!

I tend to use PayPal for transactions in the USA, but the fees can get you. If you have enough time beforehand and you're dealing with a reputable seller or store then you can always get a money order / bank draft and courier it out. In Canada it's nice and easy because all of the banks have a system for email money transfers (Interac Money Transfer) that's easy and inexpensive.

USPS pretty much requires to to show up at the post office and request the money order. THey do accept credit/debit cards. Just tell them the amount that you need. The fee is really low (0.95 c for up to $300, or 1.30 for over $300).

You'll have to mail your seller the money order. I would suggest delivery/signature confirmation, and insurance, just in case. You hate to lose that money in the mail for one reason or another.

Paypal isn't bad if you have a bank account attached. EBT's are very easy, and there's no fee involved with that. There is a fee with credit cards, but it ususally gets charged to the seller.

Thanks Tony! I have considered that too. I am currently out of the country and I am getting my folks to handle the money order thing for me. Apparently they would like to do it online... guess they have to really travel down to the post office I reckon :(
